Independent Convenience Store & Forecourt
For this independent convenience and forecourt retail project, the brief was to deliver a refrigeration and display solution that supported high footfall trading, strong product visibility, and efficient use of space within a modern convenience-led forecourt environment. The store required effective chilled and frozen merchandising across key categories including food to go, drinks, dairy, fresh produce, and everyday convenience essentials, while maintaining the personality and local feel associated with the Tout’s brand. The project reflected Tout’s position as a forecourt retailer with the “heart of an independent”, combining convenience retail with strong local merchandising and a fresh food focus.
The Requirement
Tout’s required a refrigeration and display solution that would support a busy convenience and forecourt retail environment while reflecting the quality, independence, and local character of the store.
The brief was to create a layout that maximised available retail space, improved visibility across chilled and frozen categories, and supported key impulse and convenience purchases throughout the customer journey. The client also needed a solution that could accommodate high-volume daily trading, provide a clean and modern finish, and support a strong food to go and fresh retail offer within a compact, operationally efficient store format.
The Solution
The solution provided was a tailored package of Epta refrigerated cabinets and display equipment, designed to support both product presentation and day-to-day store performance in a fast-paced forecourt setting. From the initial brief and store layout through to concept planning, design support, delivery and installation, the project was carefully managed to ensure the final solution aligned with both the operational needs of the store and the independent retail identity of the Tout’s brand.

EPTA U.K. were proud to be involved in the design and installation of the store’s dual temperature COâ‚‚ refrigeration solution, with EPTA and Costan display cabinets selected to deliver reliable chilled and frozen performance throughout the store. The completed installation created clear, well-organised merchandising across chilled, frozen, food to go, drinks, and fresh convenience categories, helping to deliver a modern, visually appealing retail environment that combined strong product visibility with efficient day-to-day operation.

The final result was a refrigeration solution that supported both the fast-paced demands of forecourt retail and the more considered shopping experience associated with a premium independent convenience store.
